The Spirit of a Festive Night

The Spirit of a Festive Night

Through Sequim’s streets on a winter’s night,
A glowing train brings Christmas light.
Engines hum, their charm displayed,
The heart of the town, a tractor parade.

Strings of bulbs, a golden gleam,
Cast their glow on a festive dream.
Laughter echoes, voices cheer,
As warmth fills the chilly air here.

Santa rides with a knowing grin,
His sleigh replaced by an iron spin.
Garlands twinkle, wreaths adorned,
A celebration, timeless, born.

The town comes alive beneath the glow,
As tractors pass in a joyful flow.
No snow required, the spirit’s clear—
The magic of Christmas is thriving here.

Sequim, aglow in its holiday best,
Welcomes the season with light and zest.
A parade of cheer, a night so bright,
Christmas lives in Sequim tonight.

I took this photo during Sequim’s Tractor Parade of Lights, and it inspired me to write the poem. The glowing lights, Santa riding along, and the festive spirit of the night were too magical not to capture in words. I hope both the image and the poem bring a bit of that holiday magic to life for you!
